Enapter Receives NRW.Global Business Award

Win-win for scaling green hydrogen in North Rhine-Westphalia

June 29, 2021

Düsseldorf (June 29, 2021); Enapter, the producer of breakthrough AEM electrolysers, yesterday received the NRW.Global Business Award in a hybrid online/physical event in Düsseldorf. The award recognises outstanding investments by foreign companies in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), with the green hydrogen company selected following its decision to locate its “Enapter Campus” electrolyser mass production and R&D site in the region.

NRW Economics and Digital Affairs Minister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart presented the award on behalf of the state-owned NRW.Global Business Economic Development Corporation.

“We are proud that North Rhine-Westphalia’s economic conditions attracted Enapter to invest here. The company brings both the innovative spirit that has always driven our region and the green hydrogen technology that we need for the future. With it we will prepare our industry for the coming years and will reduce our CO2 emissions. Enapter will be a key partner as we implement our hydrogen strategy roadmap” – Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart.

The award comes as Enapter prepares for the autumn construction start of mass-production facilities in Saerbeck, NRW – which will scale up the rollout of its modular hydrogen generators for replacing fossil fuels and create 300+ jobs in the region.

“We are 100% convinced that choosing NRW for the Enapter Campus was the right decision,” says Sebastian-Justus Schmidt, Chairman of Enapter AG. “Enapter is honoured to receive the NRW.Global Business Award, excited to be a part of the landmark hydrogen innovation region that is taking shape here and determined to play a significant role in achieving the regional and national hydrogen production goals with our AEM Electrolysers.”
