December 2022: MW-sized news from Canada, grid balancing and a first dates for 2023
Time is running out before the end of the year and, like most, we’re glad to be facing a winter that looks to be less troublesome for energy than many feared. But if you thought that would mean we’re slowing down, you’d be mistaken. Year end race is on: Enapter is running at full speed in electrolyser production, development and deployment to unlock as many decentralised energy solutions as possible, and that’s just the start.

Dear friend of Enapter,
Welcome to the last Enapter update for 2022. Time is running out before the end of the year and, like most, we’re glad to be facing a winter that looks to be less troublesome for energy than many feared. But if you thought that would mean we’re slowing down, you’d be mistaken:
Enapter is running at full speed in electrolyser production, development and deployment to unlock as many decentralised energy solutions as possible, and that’s just the start. For the rest, read on!
2x AEM Multicores for Canada’s Prince Edward Island
The first MW-scale AEM electrolyser order for the North American market has been placed by RE-FUEL Renewable Fuels Inc. The system will start making Canada’s Prince Edward Island province energy self-sufficient, with RE-FUEL working with Aspin Kemp & Associates Inc. (AKA), a leading Canadian Power Systems Integrator on the project.
Delivery of the AEM Multicores, which will be fully certified for the American market, is planned for the second half of 2024. Read more in our purchase announcement here or get your
Certifications available for Enapter core products
You may know that Enapter’s core products – the EL 4.0 and Dryer 2.1 – are certified for UK and European markets (UKCA and CE compliance). But we’ve also got more countries in the pipeline. Our core products are currently under assessment by Intertek for US and Canada (ETL listing), while regulatory investigation has been performed for Japan and is in progress in Australia.
Enlit Frankfurt and Decarbonise Thailand
Last week, we attended Enlit Europe, which we were invited to as a finalist in the Enel Green Hydrogen Challenge. The event had a strong focus on digitalisation and energy metering but we still had a lot of interest in both our Multicore product and cabinet size electrolysers at our booth in the Hydrogen Innovation Zone.
Our team also took the chance to visit Decarbonise Thailand, where we both exhibited and presented, with our BD colleague Tanai taking to the main stage to highlight the benefits of green hydrogen. It was exciting to see many young companies working on developing novel solutions that can play a part in decarbonizing Thailand.
And if you couldn’t meet us in Frankfurt or Bangkok – no worries!

Save the excess: Green hydrogen grid balancing
Green hydrogen is increasingly being recognised as a solution that can contribute to grid balancing: it takes renewable energy regardless of location or environment and turns it into a storable and versatile energy carrier.
But how does this look in practice and what potential does it hold?
