Enapter Showcases Green Hydrogen and Energy Storage

A demonstration at Nongnooch Tropical Garden, in Chonburi

October 9, 2019

PATTAYA, Thailand (October 09, 2019); Nongnooch Tropical Botanical Garden, a scientific research center and attraction in Chonburi Province, Thailand, today announced it is displaying hydrogen as an energy storage solution in collaboration with the hydrogen electrolyser manufacturer Enapter. The 600-acre garden aims to demonstrate an entire energy system that is independent from the local grid and fossil fuels.

The owner of the garden, Mr. Kampon Tansacha, shared his commitment to hydrogen technology by hosting a related seminar on Tuesday, October 8th as part of Enapter’s “The Big Thing” hydrogen technology conference. The hands-on workshop, organized by Enapter, demonstrated how to build an entire microgrid together to save the future and provide blueprints and knowledge that will push us towards zero-emission energy,” remarked Mr. Tansacha. “Green hydrogen is a valuable resource and experts anticipate it to enable the future of energy storage.”

The workshop welcomed participants from all around the world who learned how to build a hydrogen energy system. They reached a common understanding of how to use hydrogen as a safer and cleaner alternative energy source and built the solar-hydrogen energy system that was presented in Nongnooch Garden.

“This unique garden and the conservation ideals set forth by its stewards provide an ideal setting for us to illustrate the Enapter system,” said Sebastian-Justus Schmidt, Chairman of Enapter. “We believe hydrogen is a solution to replace fossil fuels and has great implications for both the future of energy and the preservation of our planet. We are proud to be able to provide a hands-on demonstration of this to everyone who participated in the workshop.”

Solar and wind energy are abundant and cheap energy sources. Hydrogen storage technology can store energy for the long term and improve the potential of renewables. More importantly, green hydrogen is carbon-free and it can be used for a wide range of other use cases such as transportation, industry and heat.

The world-famous Nongnooch Tropical Botanical Garden, which was built by Mr. Kampon Tansacha, is known for its research center on prehistorical seed plants and was created with a clear intent to preserve tropical flowers and plants. In addition to its collection, the garden regularly holds world-renowned seminars on horticulture.
