First Enapter Core Partner – Adsensys
We are very happy to announce our first Core Partner, the Dutch energy company Adsensys – which will purchase AEM Electrolyser Stacks to build its own megawatt-scale AEM Electrolysers.
Adsensys plans to deploy AEM electrolysers totalling 10 MW of capacity by 2026, with these systems bearing the legend “AEMpowered” – an Enapter brand that highlights our patented AEM Stacks within the electrolysers.
As if that wasn’t exciting enough, the system will be controlled by our EMS (Energy Management System) software, which will be licensed and labeled for Adsensys as part of the Core Partnership.
Adsensys is a long-standing, experienced Enapter partner that has already deployed several AEM Electrolyser projects, so we’re proud to have taken the first Core Partner step alongside them.

News from Germany: Hydrogen instead of curtailment
In October, a new regulation was enacted in parts of northern Germany that paves the way for green hydrogen production from renewable energy that would otherwise be curtailed.
The regulation, “Nutzen statt Abregeln” or “Use instead of curtail”, comes after 10 terawatts of German green electricity production was curtailed – not generated – in 2023 due to grid bottlenecks.
Eligible operators setting up new electrolysers in these electricity grid relief zones can be allocated low-cost green electricity to avoid curtailment and reduce redispatch costs. This offers energy generators a double opportunity to run electrolysers with curtailment electricity volumes alongside producing green hydrogen from peaks in their own clean electricity production.
The two-year trial phase is taking place in Germany’s north, as 93% of curtailments in 2023 affected wind turbines in this area. Further background info and official statements are available in German.
Enapter’s multi-core AEM Electrolysers are well-suited to this application since they make the most of intermittent renewables with best-in-class efficiency, reactivity and operational flexibility.
Our compact AEM Flex 120 electrolyser just surpasses the 100-kW minimum for the Nutzen statt Abregeln mechanism, while our AEM Nexus systems offer even more flexibility at megawatt-scale.

Meet the Hydrogen Terminal – video
Our 1 MW AEM Nexus electrolyser helps bridge the gap between fundamental research and practical applications in the H2 real-world lab known as the Hydrogen Terminal.
Located at the Braunschweig Research Airport and spanning 4,700m², the siz energieplus Hydrogen Terminal serves as a hub for research expertise along the H2 value chain in the megawatt range.
A brand-new video exploring this research hub and the role of our AEM Nexus has just dropped; watch it here!
