Efficient clean ammonia production
London-based company Nium is on a mission to eliminate emissions at scale while disrupting and decentralizing the dirty $75 billion ammonia market, starting with an AEM Electrolyser system commissioned by our UK partner Creo International.
Nium’s highly energy-efficient chemical reactor synthesizes ammonia at a fraction of the cost and pollution of traditional electrochemical and Haber-Bosch systems. Their nanotech adapts seamlessly to any H2 feedstock, and its low-pressure and low-temperature operation results in a low energy requirement that copes with power supply fluctuations, perfectly suited for renewables.
Enapter’s modular AEM Electrolyzers are, therefore, a perfect match for Nium’s flexible and decentralized solution, and their current test set-up includes 5 of our compact AEM EL 4 electrolyzers, as well as an Enapter dryer and water tank.
From initial engagement to final setup, the entire process took Creo less than two months, and Enapter’s electolyzer systems are ready to scale up with Nium as their technology grows.
