Development Engineer – Electrolyser Cooling Circuits (m/f/d)

We’re looking for a Development Engineer to join our team and prepare our products for mass production, increasing reliability and lowering its cost. You will be working closely with our Pisa and Saerbeck teams and follow the product design process from specification to production. 


  • Development of process liquid loop components (e.g. cooling circuit, electrolyte circuit) from prototyping to mass-manufacturing 
  • Conception and selection of specific components like piping, pumps, control switches, sensors (temperature, pressure, flow, H2, O2) 
  • Coordination of calculation or simulation of the complete process liquid loop (including cooling and water treatment) 
  • Define and support internal or external functional tests together with our testing team 
  • Execute design for manufacturing and assembly   

Your profile

  • First things first: Enthusiasm for the part green hydrogen will play in tomorrow’s world and Enapter’s role in it  
  • 3+ years of industrial or academic experience in mechanical design or similar in automotive or white goods industry 
  • Excellent knowledge in the area of cooling, control, cooling circuits 
  • Creative problem solver, self-motivated to innovate with the drive to deliver maturity into new system delvelopments 
  • Understanding of devices working under pressure and sealings/gaskets 
  • Knowledge of industrial stress and safety tests  
  • Good knowledge of thermodynamics and hydraulics, problem solving and communication skills are required to succeed in the role. 
  • Excellent English communication skills, German and/or Italian is a plus    
  • Knowledge in CAD and CAE software tools (Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks) 
  • Willing to travel between offices in Pisa and Saerbeck
