Our team is growing fast and currently we are looking for a Mechanical Modelling and Simulation (FEM – CAE) Engineer. You will fill a gap in our team’s skillset, and you will have an important role in setting up the engineering team structure. You will be an integral part of the development process, occupying the intersection between the engineering and chemistry teams. Be ready for a dynamic environment!

Responsibilities

  • Perform FEM – CAE simulation for the development of the electrolytic stack
  • Lead the mechanical design and optimisation of the electrolytic stack
  • Oversee and enabling the rapid prototyping of new system components
  • Design optimisation and selection of fluid dynamic components incl. gaskets for gases and liquids by performing quantitative sensitivity analyses
  • Provide support in documentation for the prototyping of Electrolyser stacks and systems
  • Supporting production and aftermarket

Useful skills / qualifications

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Expertise in mechanical modelling (FEM) is a must
  • Experience in the following simulation aspects would be beneficial but not mandatory: Non-linear analysis, contact formulation, hyperplastic and viscoelastic-plastic material, gaskets creeps and viscous responses“pressure device” and/or in sealing modelling and Fluid-structure interaction
  • Good English communication skills
  • Knowledge in CAD-software tools (Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks) and FEM-CAE software (Ansys, Nastram, Abaqus, COMSOL,..)
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as : Matlab, Python would be advantageous

  • Anode or cathode catalyst and electrode development
  • Integration of MEA into the Enapter stack and optimization of stack architecture

Qualifications 

  • Minimum bachelor’s in chemistry or equivalent experience (at least)
  • Good English communication skills
  • Knowledge of electrochemical reactions and understanding of water electrolysis
  • Understanding of noble metal catalysts and non-noble metal catalysts
  • Knowledge of electrochemical methods for electrocatalyst characterization (RDE, half-cell, cyclic voltammetry, etc)

Carbon Footprint Analysis Internship (3-6 months) Berlin, Germany

What is our carbon footprint? We want to find out and substantiate how many tons of greenhouse gas emissions can be avoided with our electrolysers that produce green hydrogen. You can help us with that!

For our office in Berlin, we are looking for a talent with excellent writing skills. Green hydrogen and our distributed electrolysers are poised to disrupt the oil and gas industry. This story is still largely untold and we are at the very beginning and need support in shaping and sharing it.

We are not necessarily looking for a super expert who knows everything about hydrogen, but an inspired person who understands why hydrogen and Enapter are disruptive. We are looking for talent, eager to tell this story and grow with us. If you are up to the task, let us know why and how!
