Vorarlberg, Austria
The training and demonstration facility opened at the HTL Dornbirn training and research institute in Vorarlberg, Austria illustrates why close cooperation between industry, education and the public sector is so important for the energy transition. Implemented by our system integrator NEIS, the pilot plant includes a photovoltaic system, our AEM Electrolyser technology, hydrogen storage and a fuel cell. With it, students at the institute can now access hydrogen knowledge, stimulate their interests and gain practical experience.
The complete energy cycle from renewable energy generation to the production and storage of hydrogen, as well as reverse power generation can be tested, mapped, controlled and optimised using Enapter’s Energy Management System Toolkit. For practical experiments, pupils can take a close look at individual components such as the electrolyser in this plant, draw up energy balances and analyse the efficiency of a hydrogen production process using measurement technology. One of the goals behind the facility is qualifying Vorarlberg companies for the rapidly growing global hydrogen economy and to position them as suppliers, sustainably securing cutting-edge know-how in green H2 technology.
